How to Get More Vigorous

You will have a far better life if you get more vigorous.

Vigorous means you are healthy, strong, energetic and can power through whatever life throws at you.

You don't have to remain sickly and weak.  The evidence of how a man can live a vigorous life is all you. 

There are simple things you can do and not do that will almost guarantee you will get more vigorous.

But it seems most people, smart men included, go out of their way to remain weak, pale, sickly and unable to handle the inevitable challenges that life throws at them.

Can you

  • Get up early after a late night on the town?
  • Handle the stress of moving, doing most of the bull work yourself?
  • Stay up late, partying hard, trying to have fun, and not fall asleep?
  • Stay late at work for for many extra hours to meet a big deadline?
  • Work hard and intensely at a fast pace at work to pump out everything that needs to get done?
  • Can you hustle to get all your chores and errands all done quickly so you have more time?
  • Get up early in the morning to work on your part-time business in addition to going to a full-time job and raising a family.

And most importantly, can you put aside whatever it is you find yourself spinning your wheels against and spend the necessary time figuring out how you want to live your life?

Get More Sleep

Plenty of sleep and rest is first.  Everything else doesn't matter if you aren't getting enough sleep.

You may have to completely re-arrange your life in order to get proper sleep.

I did.

I had to leave my wife.

The main reason I left my wife was not to get more sleep.  But I was certainly not well-rested when I was married and I did not feel good at all for all those years.

I usually went to bed around mid-night or 1 am and got up at 6:15 am to hurriedly shower, shave, dress, make a quick lunch and grab a bagel or few slices of bread to eat in the car on 20 minute drive to to a workday that started strictly at 7 am.

I might nap a little in an uncomfortable chair while watching a little TV in the evening.  But usually that was while my wife was putting the kids to bed around 9 pm.  Once that was done, she always wanted me working around the house for a few hours on some crazy project or just trying to stay ahead of the mountain of chores a stay-at-home mom should be able to handle with ease.

When I first left her, I spent a lot of time sleeping.  I went to bed early every night.  I slept in on weekends.  I took naps when I needed them.  I slept and kept sleeping until I started to feel better.

Extra sleep does wonders for you.

Getting proper sleep needs to be your top priority.  Nothing else will really matter if you don't sleep enough.

Eat More Meat & Fat

It's almost comical how we are pushed to adopt unhealthy eating patterns. 

You should be able to see that you feel much better the more meat and animal based fats you eat.

The less of these you eat, the less vigorous you become.

Some very interesting ideas on just eating meat. 

There is a movement to stop us from living healthily and happily.  It seems they want us to be sick and weak, doesn't it?

Supplements are needed to Get More Vigorous

Eating well, with plenty of meat and animal fat, is first.  But some supplementation may be necessary.

The main thing I do is get Testosterone Replacement Therapy.  From my research and personal experience, once a man gets a little older, you will probably need this.

It is expensive.  But like anything else in life, the best things are not cheap.

I like creatine too.  From my research and use of it, it seems to really help.

  • Vitamin D
  • Vitamin C
  • Magnesium
  • Iodine
  • Fish Oil
  • Curcumin
  • BCAA's

CBD Oil is really interesting.  I have used it here and there. I had a terrible injury to my elbow from weight training.  Taking CBD oil was the only thing that seemed to help.  If it weren't so blasted expensive I would probably use it all the time.

Minimize Stress


But of course most of us are stressed to the breaking point for most of our lives.  Until we realize it is not necessary and set about making the massive changes in our lives to eliminate stressors and minimize stress as much as we can.

Stress in whatever form is one of the worst things you can deal with.

You have to re-orient your life away from constantly dealing with excessive stress.

I left my wife.  She was a real stress causer.   I am always looking for ways to make improvements in my life.  And what seems to help the most is finding ways to eliminate something, especially stress.

Live Your Dream Life

Me near the end of a long hike in Wyoming. I was vigorous enough to make this hike and not fall off the mountain. The rewards of the incredible scenery and satisfaction in doing it were tremendous.

Living your dream life is not possible without doing all the items above. 

It will not happen.

But to obtain the motivation to go through the persistent effort required to do all those items, knowing what your dream life is, will provide you the motivation and drive to keep going under the relentless societal push to keep you where you are.

The pressure to remain married to a woman who is not right for you is enormous.

The pressure to minimize sleep and to try to function while exhausted is also relentless.

The world goes out it's way to push a stressful lifestyle and unhealthy food at you until you just relent and go along with it, suffering more and more.

You lose whatever vitality you have.

But just because everything and everyone is bombarding you with the wrong message, does not mean you have to do what they want.  You can ignore all that and make choices in your life to get more vigorous.
