If you can take steps to simplify your life, you will get happier.
Drama, chaos, frustrations and feelings of being overwhelmed will become a distant memory. Replaced by simplicity, order, organization and happiness.
I've lived both types of lives.
For years my life was a mess of overwhelmed frustration when I was married.
Even the years after I had left her were filled with problems. It took years of persistent effort and mindfulness toward my peace of mind to get me to where I am today.
Toss something, anything out. It can be anything. When I find something to toss and do it, my life always gets a little better.
Even when I cannot find anything to toss, I at least throw out my garbage now, rather than waiting. Even having empty garbage cans will clear up your life a little and make you feel better.
2. Stop for gas when your tank is half full or fuller
Do not wait until the gauge is below half.
Seeing your gauge continue to go down while you are driving around taking care of the important business of your life causes a slight amount of stress in your life that you can just totally avoid by making it a habit to be topping off your tank at half full.
Plus it does not take so long to fill up a half tank or less and is far less expensive.
If you get gas at a place you can do some shopping, that is a real time saver. My favorite gas station has fresh milk, bread, eggs and a few other groceries at a low cost. This stuff is not overpriced at all.

Avoid the stress and potential damage to your car by keeping it full of gas. I know it's expensive, but it is your most important expense.
3. Pay your bills when they come in rather than waiting
Why wait? It just adds to your stress.
The bills have to be paid.
Just maintain a cushion in your checking account. It is rare when I get a bill now in my mail or email inbox that I do not immediately write the check and put it back in the mailbox or pay on-line.
My stress level and annoyance with the bills has gone away. I have been working toward this for years and have almost got it.
4. Get up earlier
I like to get up 2 hours before I need to get ready for work.
Then I have 2 hours to do what I want to do when I am alone and fresh.
The thing to do is to do what you want to do. You are at your best after a night of sleep. That is when you are the most sharp.
waste your mornings listening to yammering on the radio or watching
inane TV. Do things for yourself that improve your life.

5. Go to bed earlier
The key to getting up earlier, is going to bed earlier.
You have to do both. You have to get plenty of sleep.
People who say they do not need much sleep are just fooling themselves. They will pay the price with a loss of health.
6. Think about your life
You somehow cannot worry so much about other people.
They are going to do what they do. There is nothing you can do about them.
Concentrate on you and let others do the same.
7. Straighten out your surroundings
Cleaning is not that satisfying to me.
What is satisfying is seeing my home, my car and my office all nicely picked up and put away.
up and putting away your things on a continual basis will make your
life so much better because not much is out and strewn around.
8. Keep the electronic things that you use charged up
Get in the habit of charging these things every night.
You know this must be done so make it a habit.
9. Spend less money
If you always have some cash available in your wallet and your checking account, you will always feel good.
The stress of life fades if you can just pay to make your problems and frustrations go away.
10. Be early
Being a lot early is always better than being a little late. Bring something to do or enjoy the time if you are a little early.
These are some of my favorite ways to simplify your life. They work and are not that difficult.
