Try One Heavy Set instead of 5 by 5

I'm gonna give one heavy set a try, feeling fatigued with the ole 5x5 it's really not worth it!

Try One Heavy Set instead of 5 by 5

I think the 5 by 5 works for some guys when they are younger and can center their life around weight training. Plenty of time to lift because you need at least 10 minutes to rest between each of the sets across. Plenty of time to rest, sleep 10 hours every night plus naps. Plenty of proper food, 3 pounds of steak a day. No drinking. No stress from work or family or responsibilities.

Perhaps a man could do this method for a few months to rapidly increase his strength, power and muscle size, but for most of us, I don't think it works.

Doing a lot of heavy sets of any one exercise is enormously taxing on your body and incredibly difficult for your mind too.

So, yes. I always encourage people to think about the just One heavy set idea.
